“Independent” – Why is this Important?

Some Financial advisers work for banks or other tied institutions.  These advisers will usually be paid a salary and quite often are given targets to reach. They are known as tied advisers, usually work from 9am-5pm and can hardly be described independent.    In contrasts there are some big financial institutions such as large and well known insurance companies that will band together to form a Network.  Obviously these institutions will want to recoup their investment back so they will usually take on Financial advisers, usually self-employed who can only offer products from one of the founding companies. These advisers are Mult-tied advisers and will not be allowed to use the title “Independent” anywhere in their description. These advisers might have title names such as Financial Planner or Financial Consultant.   We at FinancialShield are Independent Financial Advisers.  We are able to offer products from any of all the companies in the marketplace.  What this means in essence is that we would be working for you and on your behalf by providing genuine and independent advice because we have the whole of the market to research.   We at FinancialShield feel that when you ready and in the market place and you are looking for a Financial Adviser then one of the most important criteria is they must be “Independent”.   We are so proud of our independent status we shout it out loud.  Look for the Logo.
